An experienced Data Platform Engineer for a Norwegian leading company in aquaculture and food production

On behalf of our client - Nordlaks, SFox is looking for Data Platform Consultant for long term collaboration

Nordlaks has an extensive production facility on Børøya which is under continuous expansion and improvement. We have recently started the construction of a new slaughterhouse of 20,000 m2 and in the coming years we will carry out several large projects.

Production is becoming increasingly automated and digitized and Nordlaks is considering several projects within machine learning/artificial intelligence. The need to manage data platforms and data collection systems is getting bigger and bigger, and we therefore want to expand the IT department at Nordlaks Produkter with a new position as IT Consultant - data platform. Workplace can be discussed.

Work assignments
Databases:

• Work with databases and computer systems to ensure high performance, security and scalability Implement, document and manage Big Data solutions and data collection systems
• Monitoring and troubleshooting of database-related and data flow-related problems
• Interact with various teams to understand data needs and suggest improvements
• Support the rest of the organization with solid knowledge of database and data modeling

Integrations:

• Carry out proactive work to improve and further develop existing integrations, preferably by rethinking or proposing improvements to those who are owners/recipients of data
• Carry out needs analyzes and prepare requirements specifications for integration solutions
• The position reports to the head of IT/OT in Nordlaks

Qualifications

• Relevant education from vocational school/college/university within IT
• Documented relevant experience from operating databases, integrations and applications
• Preferably with programming experience
• Relevant work experience in relation to the position can compensate for a lack of formal education
